Ask about the wood before choosing a piece

From names to materials in each part: questions to make the conversation more specific.

When you like a piece, you may want to know which wood it uses and whether it can be made differently. A useful approach is to relate the question to the exact piece and part you are considering.

The family specializes in gụ ta and gụ Lào. For each piece, the wood name, where it is used and specifications need to be discussed directly; this article suggests questions to ask before deciding.

  • Identify the piece you are viewing and ask about specific parts.

  • Distinguish the photographed piece from the custom version you would like.

  • Record materials, dimensions and included items alongside the quote.

Start with the exact piece you are viewing

Sending a link or reference photograph helps both sides discuss the same piece. Point to the part you are interested in rather than asking generally about a furniture group with many designs.

If information is unclear, ask directly. Photographs help discuss design; the maker needs to confirm materials for a particular piece.

Ask about each part of the piece

For a cabinet, ask about the top, frame, doors, back and base in turn. For tables, seating or worship furniture, adjust the list to the parts you want to clarify.

This makes the conversation more specific than one general name for the whole piece. Note anything unclear so it can be confirmed before you agree.

  • Top, frame or legs.

  • Doors, compartments and the parts used directly.

  • Back, base, fittings and included parts.

Explain changes you want for custom work

If you want different dimensions, wood or finish color, mention this from the start. These are custom specifications priced for your needs, not ready-made choices on an automatic price list.

Also explain its use and placement so we can discuss an approach. The same reference photograph can lead to different requirements in different homes.

Record what has been agreed

Before deciding, check the reference name, materials discussed for each part, specifications, included items and price. Note any changes from the original photograph separately.

If convenient, visiting to see pieces and discuss them can make the choice clearer. Call either family number or send photographs to Trinh on Zalo to begin.

You can send the article link with a reference photograph when speaking with the family.
